April (Fekete) Stevens founded Birch Hollow Design out of her passion of helping clients create their dream home and the belief that clients should not have to pay a premium to have their home designed.

April’s journey into architecture began in high school when she started working for Richard K. Merrell of Merrell Associates, Architects and Planners. After high school, she studied architecture at Wentworth Institute of Technology in Boston, MA and graduated with Bachelors of Architectural Engineering degree. During her time in Boston, she worked under Philip Hresko of Hresko Associates. Upon graduating, she spent 12 years working under Rick Merrell until his passing. Merrell Architects, Inc. was then formed where she was the Co-owner, Vice President and Project Manager for 8 years.
